About Cleaning Secrets

A small publishing project covering one narrow subject: which cleaning products actually do what the packaging says, and which are selling you a stronger version of a job you should not have to do at all.

Why this website exists

Cleaning is a category built on effort. Most products are sold on the promise of a stronger formula for the same scrubbing, and the marketing rarely stops to ask whether the scrubbing is helping. Cleaning Secrets exists to look at that plainly — what a product is actually designed to do, what the mechanism is, and where the claim gets ahead of itself.

We are a consumer information website. We do not manufacture, sell, ship or support any product ourselves, and we do not carry stock or handle anybody’s order.

The product category we cover

Our coverage focuses on household cleaning — bathroom and kitchen products, stain removal, and the tools and formulas sold for jobs most people dislike doing. RestoraBowl is the product featured on our homepage.

This is a category where honest expectation-setting matters, because results genuinely vary. The same product can clear a mark in one bathroom and need two goes in another, depending on the age of the fixture, how long the staining has been setting and how hard the water is. We say so rather than printing a single dramatic before-and-after and letting readers assume it is typical.

Our editorial approach

Claims we will not make

No invented statistics, no fabricated customer counts, no countdown timers and no live “only nine left” stock counters. Where a figure comes from a seller, we say so.

How we frame products

Featured products are described in terms of what they are designed to do, with the caveats attached. We use words like “may” and “varies” where those are the honest words, even when a stronger one would convert better.

Advertising, disclosed up front

Our homepage article is a paid advertorial and is labelled as one at the very top of the page, above the header, before any content. Nothing about that arrangement is buried in a footnote.

Corrections

If something we publish is inaccurate or has gone out of date, write to us and we will review it. Formulations, pricing and return terms change often; we would rather fix a page than defend it.

Transparency about commercial relationships

Cleaning Secrets is a commercially supported website. The homepage article is sponsored content, and the links to the featured product are affiliate links. If a reader goes on to use or purchase something after following one of those links, this website may receive compensation from the advertiser or its affiliate network.

That compensation does not add anything to the price a reader pays, and it does not buy a guarantee of positive coverage — the caveats above sit on the same page as the promotion. Full details are set out in our Advertising Disclaimer.

Who we write for

Our audience is general-interest: people who keep a home, are not professional cleaners, and want a straightforward explanation before buying yet another bottle. Content is written in US English and reflects US consumer-privacy expectations, including the rights described in our Privacy Policy.

We do not provide legal, financial, medical or professional advice of any kind, and nothing on this website should be treated as such. Always read and follow the label on the product you actually receive — it takes precedence over anything written here.
